Executive Leadership and Planning
Larry has had an extensive career in senior management since the mid 70's, with the rapid growth in Michigan's County Mental Health systems. His knowledge of community collaboration, human resources, executive leadership, labor relations, marketing, and organizational accountability has provided the experience for his consultation to healthcare and non-profit executives and their organizations.
Healthcare Governance
As a hospital trustee for 20 years, governance has been a familiar challenge and provides Larry with a unique perspective for organizations and boards looking for new ideas in leadership. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Three Rivers Area Hospital Authority, and is a trustee on the LifeCare Ambulance Service board.
Larry received his training in Policy GovernanceŽ with the creator of the model, John Carver, through a special project in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1996, and most recently as a graduate of the Policy Governance Academy. He has been a training consultant to over 20 organizations who have implemented this new approach and framework of board governance. Larry specializes in healthcare and non-profit governance boards. Project Management
Larry has assisted organizations in achieving their project goals through grant writing, grant management, new product development and marketing plans, community collaboration and coalition development, board retreat facilitation, and executive coaching. The newest project gaining national recognition "Aging in Place - Battle Creek" is designed to develop a blueprint for the community attempting to anticipate what Baby Boomers will want in their retirement hometown of the future.
Larry received his Bachelor's Degree from Elmhurst College and Master's Degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University. He resides in Three Rivers, Michigan with his wife Ann, and has three adult sons.
